JOIN US AND LEARN TO DESIGN AND BUILD A MICRO-HOUSE IN JUST SIX DAYS!

A WARM WELCOME AWAITS YOU. SET IN BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS AND AMONGST LIKE-MINDED FRIENDS, YOU WILL BE TAUGHT BY HIGHLY-QUALIFIED AND SYMPATHETIC TUTORS. THIS IS AN EXCITING NEW COURSE THAT WILL TEACH YOU THE SKILLS TO BUILD A MICRO-HOUSE USING THE THREE KEY ELEMENTS OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN, CARPENTRY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY.

For girls and guys at all skill levels, here is a practical hands-on Course where you will learn to build with timber and work with architectural design, guided by experienced tutors.

No skills are needed, and you really don’t need to be physically strong. The main thing you will need is interest, enthusiasm and an eagerness for acquiring the skills on offer.

For those under 18 years, special arrangements need to be made for each student.

SO WHAT IS A MICRO-HOUSE, AND WHAT ARE WE OFFERING YOU ON THIS COURSE?

Our main task will be to teach you all the skills that will enable you to build a Micro-house, called a ‘Suspension house’ - as this house is designed for a climbing park and it is going to hang from the trees by wires!

The main architectural design is complete, but the interior is not, so the design element of the Course will be connected to doing this, as well as to other general design assignments. There will also be a smaller individual assignment where students can try out their newly-acquired skills.

The theoretical part of the Course is carefully woven into the practical activities of the day, with a welcome breather in the middle of the day, which will also serve as the theoretical time of the day.

Packed with valuable hints and tips, as well as wonderful talks from the experts, you will leave the Course feeling inspired and ready to exert your own artistic flair on a Micro-house of your own - whether that’s a little off-grid home, a workspace in the garden, or a glamping pod for summer getaways.

We have six days to do this, and we aim to get the main structure completed, and to start planning and building the interior.

You might also like to extend your stay after the Course so you can explore Å-Camp, the location of the Course, and maybe take a trip to the other end of the farm, where there is a lovely lake for fishing, and a cabin to stay in.
